Events

The retail world met in New York for one of the most important events of the year, organized by the National Retail Federation: NRF 2024 Big Show.

Janis was present hand in hand with Ricardo Rodríguez, VP Global Sales Strategy, to keep abreast of new trends, innovations and participate in conferences with prominent industry leaders.

Next, we share Four of the most relevant topics of the meeting:

1. Artificial intelligence and its practical application

As expected, the Artificial Intelligence, Data and Analysis occupied a central place in the discussions of the various sessions. However, what really made the difference this year was the shift towards the practical application of AI in specific cases. General conceptualization was abandoned and concrete implementation was embraced. We hear AI use cases, from forecasts to chatbots, highlighting common challenges and the importance of building reliable models. In this context, trust in data governance and certification processes was revealed to be fundamental.

2. The evolution towards unified commerce

The quest to provide a consistent customer experience, regardless of the channel or time of purchase, remains the main driver. Unified commerce goes beyond omnichannel, unifying customer data across all channels. For those retailers that have already adopted omnichannel, the transition to unified commerce involves fundamental technological investments to execute coherent strategies.

3. Collaborator-centered approach

Although retail technologies such as AI, unified commerce and automation are often associated with improvements in the customer experience, NRF 2024 highlighted a shift to a more employee-centered approach. The Presentations Addressed How to improve employee autonomy and empowerment through productivity and programming applications. The vision of a unified commerce that places the employee at the center highlights the importance of Technologies That Empower Store Associates.

4. Automation

It offers more cost-effective options and improved efficiencies in a variety of areas, from warehouse operations to store operations and e-commerce.
