A real-world case, told by the client
Francisco Mato, CEO & Co-Founder of Janis Commerce, shared the stage with Iván Rivera, Commercial Director of Tiendas Neto, to present the business case: “Intelligent internal replenishment at the scale of Mexican hard discount.”
Tiendas Neto operates a network of over 2,000 stores, supplied by 10 distribution centers across 20 Mexican states. At that scale, logistics is no longer just an operational task; it becomes a strategic decision. In hard discount retail, low prices are built into the operation, and every logistical error impacts the bottom line.
From logistics plan to execution
One of the core ideas discussed was how roles are distributed within the ecosystem: planning defines what each store needs; Janis defines how each order is prepared, when, and from which dock it departs; the ERP documents the shipment with the bill of lading and reflects stock levels; and the store receives the goods, closing the order cycle. Everything is connected through real-time integrations: catalog, purchase orders, store orders, bills of lading, store delivery, stock, and picking results.
What we are solving with Janis Inventory
We are working with Tiendas Neto to implement Janis Inventory, our internal replenishment engine, to centralize warehouse management across their entire network:
- Comprehensive inventory management: blind receiving with quality control, logging the logistical footprint of each product, slotting, and rotation by expiration date.
- Optimized preparation by waves, zones, and pallets, with pallet assembly calculated by the system.
- Automated controls: double verification via scanning and weight, batch and expiration auditing, and pallet assembly checks.
- Traceable dispatch by LPN: a unique label per package, dock assignment from the moment of preparation, and pallet restructuring by route.
The goal is to gain accuracy in preparation, end-to-end traceability, better service levels, and greater control over operating margins, ensuring the network can continue to grow without the operation becoming a bottleneck.
What’s next
We also shared a look ahead at process agents like Cubic Planner, designed to segment products by volume, weight, type, and condition, evaluate the best way to group cargo (reducing empty space and transit damage), and streamline picking, controls, and loading.
Beyond the stage
Our time in Mexico also included the Janis Commerce booth, the opening cocktail party on the 51st floor, and the eLíderes Forum, organized by the eCommerce Institute.
Thanks to Tiendas Neto for their trust and for sharing their case study, to the eCommerce Institute and the Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO) for the organization, and to everyone who stopped by to discuss their operational challenges.
